Basketball Tower Upgrade

Napier Boys High School needed a robust solution to replace their aging wooden backboards on their 3 way backboard towers.  After suggesting a couple of solutions they decided on installing new stainless steel full size, 1800 x 1050, backboards with steel powder coated hoops. The school is close to the coast so stainless steel boards means no corrosion and extends the lifespan compared to other materials like plywood.

New backboard frames were designed to mount the backboards to the tower and the existing HotShot hoops were refurbished as they were still in great condition after 8+ years of use.

Custom powdercoating of the backboards to match the school colours was choosen and steel wire nets for the hoops means an extended lifespan and peace of mind against vandalism and damage compared to nylon nets.
